Crime Reduction - Helping to Reduce Crime in Your Area

Ideas & Initiatives

Funding home

The government has made available a great deal of money over recent years to help reduce crime, both to Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnerships and to voluntary and community groups. This has been achieved primarily through a series of topic-related funds each aimed a specific crime type (such as burglary) or a specific crime solution (for example CCTV). More recently there's been a move toward merging these streams, to reduce the administrative burden and the complication for partnerships.

In these pages we've tried to bring together as much information as we can on where you can apply for funding for crime reductions schemes, and on those awards that have been made over recent years.

In addition to the information presented here, you might also want to check out governmentfunding.org.uk, acts as an online portal for grants to community and voluntary sector from the following funders:

  • Department for Education & Skills

  • Department of Health

  • Home Office

  • Office of the Deputy Prime Minister

  • Government Offices for the Regions
