Crime Reduction - Helping to Reduce Crime in Your Area

Information Sharing

Introduction to Voluntary Organisations Group

Hello and welcome to our benchmarking group on Voluntary Organisations!

We invite you to submit to us examples of best practice, good information sharing protocols and any problems you may be experiencing or progress in involving Voluntary Organisations in crime reduction. This group will only be as good as you make it!

You can use this link to the Crime Reduction Discussion Forum, where you can share your views on this topic, or ask questions to us or other practitioners in the field. Below, you can access some examples of local information sharing guidance that are considered to be good practice.

We have included links, one from NACRO and another from Crime Concern, of how these organisations work to promote crime reduction effectively and of the vast range of guidance they offer to crime reduction practitioners. In addition, we are including a link to the CSV organisation, which is actively involved in all aspects of community projects; CSV recently organised with the Home Office, a seminar on including volunteering in communities, and identifying where voluntary organisations can be more effective.

Victim Support is a national charity which provides support and assistance to people affected by crime.
