This report updates and reviews the changes in policy, in commissioning, design and delivery of services, and in our knowledge of the effectiveness of prevention and treatment interventions since 1996. The scope of the review covers tobacco, alcohol and drugs of potential misuse in young people up to the age of 19 years of age.
The Virtual Courtroom
Around 500,000 jurors are summoned to participate in trials each year. Those attending Crown Court trials will now be able to take a 'virtual tour' of court to familiarise themselves with its layout and procedures by logging on to www.cjsonline.org.
Crime Concern Annual Report
Crime Concern's Chief Executive, Nigel Whiskin, has made a plea for crime reduction not to be pushed out of the national consciousness in the shadow of 'courts, cops and corrections' while launching the Crime Concern annual review.
Fit for the Future - Modernising the Criminal Justice System
'Criminal Justice The Way Ahead' has been published jointly by the Home Office, the Lord Chancellor's Department and the Attorney General's Office, and sets out proposals and ideas for the reform of the Criminal Justice System.
DPAS Business Plan 2001-2002
DPAS has had a busy two years since its launch in 1999. Extending its brief from providing assistance to young people and communities to also cover drugs treatment and availability has provided the organisation with some tough challenges. Over the past year DPAS has taken a long and careful look at itself. It has redefined its purpose and examined how it can best serve the drugs prevention community.
