Student Victimisation
Research
Until recently, crime on university campus and student victimisation has not been studied to any great extent within the UK.
The British Crime Survey methodology measures crime against people living in private households but not those students who live in halls of residence. The need for a wider picture on the nature of student victimisation was necessary to ensure that the experiences of all students are highlighted and therefore determine the true extent of the problem.
The following studies offer a valuable insight into crime against students, the effect it has on the victims, and considers some of the strategies being implemented to combat it.
