Trading Standards Mini-site
Home
Welcome to the Mini-site for Trading Standards.
Here you will find information about the role of Trading Standards Services in tackling crime and disorder. The site is hosted in partnership with the Trading Standards Institute (TSI).
In November 2005, the Home Office and Trading Standards Institute published a strategy paper highlighting the key roles for local trading standards services, which fit directly into national, regional and local crime and disorder reduction strategies. These are:
- Taking action to prevent people being the victims of commercial crime in their own home.
- Tacking action to disrupt traders operating in the informal economy.
- Taking action to prevent harm to children and nuisance caused by young people from access to restricted goods.
